Description
As a result of March 5, 2009 Supreme Court of Canada decision on the delivery of French language services, the GNWT shall establish within 9 months the criteria defining significant demand and nature of the office in s.11(1) of the Official Languages Act of NWT (OLA) and shall draft within 1 year a comprehensive implementation planf for French communications and services under OLA in all government institutions. The court also indicated that the GNWT shall retain the services of an expert-consultant to assist in the establishment, implementation, and administration in the initial phases of the comprehensive plan.
