A Piles Inspection Study conducted by PWS in 2007/08 indicated that the
existing piles of the building foundation were deteriorated. Foundation, if not
remediated, will significantly reduce the service life of the building. More
than 50% of the piles were found heavily decayed. Hence, foundation remediation
design options are being sought from the engineering consultants.
