International Air Travel, Tourism and Freight Opportunity Study

The objective of the study is to build on the 2001 report titled, “Aeronautical
Market Study for the NWT” and the draft “Expanding Horizons” draft report by
ITI. The report is to define market and carrier interests in order to expand
NWT air connections, especially to international markets. Opportunities related
to the “meeting/convention” market need to be examined, as does possible
trans-shipment opportunities, especially for airfreight services between North
America and Asia. The review will quantify potential demand, carriers, volumes
and products.
