Description

The BDIC is inviting proposals from various law firms located within the NWT to represent its interests; 1. in the preparation, review and registration of security documents for credit facilities in excess of $200,000 made pursuant to BDIC financial programs, and/or 2. in commencing and prosecuting proceedings for the collection of delinquent accounts or other monies that are owed to the BDIC and enforcing judgements obtained as a result of those proceedings. You are asked to indicate clearly whether your proposal is for # 1 or # 2 or both. The BDIC will develop two separate rosters of legal firms, one to do the work identified in # 1, and the second to do the work identified in # 2, and the rosters will be in order of evaluation, from highest to lowest, and the services of the firms will be used on an as and when basis. The BDIC will from time to time assign a particular matter by choosing from the appropriate roster. The BDIC reserves the right to choose the firm it deems the most suitable to have conduct of a matter, but generally will select a firm to act on a file using several criteria: its place on the roster according to its evaluation, whether there is a conflict or potential conflict of interest, the number of matters already assigned to that firm, and finally, the results achieved, and the capability demonstrated by the firm on previous files.
