The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) has recently released Tourism 2010: A Tourism Plan for the Northwest Territories. The plan outlines the steps the GNWT is taking to address tourism marketing, product development, infrastructure, human resource training, and research and planning. Objectives: The objectives of the Human Resource Training initiative detailed in Tourism 2010 are to spread the benefits of tourism spending more widely through increased employment in the tourism industry and to provide the tourism industry with a well-trained workforce that will improve customer experiences.
