Description

The Department of Education, Culture and Employment is again participating in the national Historic Places Initiative. The Initiative aims to foster greater appreciation of Canadian historic places, to develop appropriate measures to encourage their conservation, and to promote rehabilitation and maintenance of these places through financial incentives. As part of the NWT Historic Places Initiative 2006, the Department is seeking proposals from communities and cultural organizations to undertake historic place research, documentation, and to continue conservation activities commenced in 2004. Only four (4) projects will receive funding under the NWT Historic Places Initiative 2006.
