Description

Requesting a Hughes 500D helicopter with side cargo pods for geological sampling work. Two activities are anticipated: (i) flights to several localities in the Gameti area over 2 to 4 days, returning to Yellowknife each evening; and (ii) a day trip to the Windy Point area of Great Slave Lake, directly north of Hay River. Helicopter is to be mobilized from Yellowknife. It must be able to carry 2 passengers with light gear plus up to 500lbs of rock samples. For the Gameti trips, customer fuel is to be used in part and is located near the sampling area. The successful bidder will provide refueling gear and slings suitable for moving aviation fuel barrels. The helicopter is required during the period Sept. 01 - Sept 30, 2006. Flying days are weather-dependent and will be mutually agreed upon following award of the contract. As some landings will take place in tree-confined areas, the pilot must have a minimum of 500 hrs time-on-type. Bidders are to specify pilot qualifications and the per km rate (both with and without fuel supplied by the bidder). Also state any holding and other charges that may apply. For tendering purposes please quote on flying a total of 5 days at an estimated flying time of 5 hours per day.
